About Dole

Historical Information

Located at Dole Cannery, the Dole Ballrooms are an intrinsic part of Hawaii’s history. Long before Hawaii became known as a tourist destination, the state’s economy was primarily driven by agriculture, of which the largest crops were sugarcane and pineapples. At the beginning of the 20th century, James Dole began the Dole Pineapple Company, one of the largest pineapple distributors in the world. The Dole Cannery played an integral role in the company’s success as it gave Dole the ability to pack and ship pineapple to broad overseas markets. With the decline of the pineapple industry in Hawaii, cannery operations closed in 1991 and the area has been converted into an office and retail complex, including Signature Theatres’ state-of-the-art 18 plex, Home Depot, and the Dole Ballrooms.

We provide you with a first class professional staff of attendants, wait staff, on-site chefs, bartenders, set-up, breakdown, and clean up crews. Our staff is professionally trained by our event management team to maintain the highest standards of service.

Custom Menus and Spectacular Food Presentations

The Dole Ballrooms catering is facilitated by Creations in Catering, an award-winning catering company. Their award-winning chef can serve a traditional elegant menu of carved prime rib or we could dazzle your guests with some innovation and adventure, incorporating their award-winning Pacific Rim Cuisine. Our reputation for crating spectacular and memorable events precedes us. We can customize an event for you from the simply elegant to the wonderfully unusual, buffet-style or sit-down dinner.

 

 

 

Consulting and Coordination

Creative consulting and coordination is one of our many unique services to assist you in planning a hassle-free event. We can assist you in renting props, lighting, sound, and any audio/visual requests you may have. We can also help you in coordinating entertainment from a “Big Band” ensemble, to strolling musicians, to a karaoke/mobile disco set-up or perhaps a spectacular laser light show. Our special event planners can assist the novice and experienced clients throughout the planning stages of your special event.

Take Ala Moana Blvd. (it will turn into Nimitz Hwy.)

From East Oahu:

Take H1 West.
Exit School St. Offramp.
Left on Liliha St.
Left on N. King St. (You will see a Kentucky Fried Chicken, across the street on the right)
